How it works

From call-up letter to your own Lagos.

Four stops, in order. Every corper starts at the same gate.

  1. Create your corper

Make your corper and get your call-up letter. Pick a face, build, skin tone and hairstyle.

    • Faces, builds, skin tones, 16 hairstyles and beards
    • Pack your bag and travel to camp
In-game screenshot: the Corps Service Call-Up letter with a Pack your bag button
  2. Survive camp 21 days

Register, collect your kit and find your bunk, then live the timetable.

    • Morning parade, lectures, SAED and Man O' War drills
    • Free meals at the kitchen and social nights
    • The daily race for top corper, then the passing-out parade
In-game screenshot: rows of corpers on the parade ground seen from above
  3. Get posted

Pass out, open your posting letter and report to your place of primary assignment (PPA).

    • Report for work at your PPA
    • CDS on Thursdays and monthly clearance for your allowance
In-game screenshot: a corper walking down the red-earth road towards the camp gate
  4. Build your Lagos life

Make Lagos yours: a home, hustles, friends and places to be.

    • Start at the Corpers' Lodge, then house-hunt with an agent
    • Mainland, Island and Ikorodu by danfo, keke, okada or GidiRide

The camp timetable

A day in camp

The game runs on Nigerian time, so the clock in camp matches the time in Nigeria (WAT). One real day is one game day.

  1. 04:30 to 05:30

The bugle goes before sunrise. Bath queue, then get dressed in your whites.

  2. 05:30 to 08:00

Parade, prayers and review. Everybody on the parade ground, and late-comers get extra drill.

    Hostels locked
  3. 08:00 to 10:00

    Breakfast and bath

Free breakfast at the Camp Kitchen, then the bath queue. Mami Market is open too.

  4. 10:00 to 12:00

    Lecture in the hall

Security, health, finance and your service year, or a SAED class on alternate days. Soldiers sweep the hostels.

    Hostels locked
  5. 12:00 to 14:00

Free lunch at the Camp Kitchen, or treat yourself at Mami Market.

  6. 14:00 to 16:00

    Afternoon session

Parade drills, a SAED skills class or platoon sports, depending on the camp day. Day 13 is the Man O' War endurance drill.

    Sports and networking

Football, volleyball and the sprint, with corpers to play against. Make friends and swap contacts.

    Dinner

Free dinner at the Camp Kitchen. Mami Market is busiest now too.

  9. 19:00 to 22:00

    Social night

A different night every day: movie night, karaoke and comedy, the talent hunt, cultural night and a last campfire.

  10. From 22:00

    Lights out

Back to your hostel. Soldiers patrol the blocks after 22:00. Then do it all again tomorrow, for 21 days.

FAQ

Questions

The short answers. Still curious? Hop in as a guest and look around.

Is NYSC World free?

Yes. It's free to play in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There's nothing to download.

Is this the real NYSC?

No. NYSC World is a fictional game inspired by Nigerian life. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NYSC or any government body.

Can I win or cash out real money?

No. Naira in the game is in-game money only. You can't buy it with real money or exchange it for real money.

Do I need an account?

You can look around as a guest first. An account keeps your corper safe and lets you play on any phone or laptop, and two secret questions let you reset a forgotten password.

Do I play with other people?

Yes. Everyone shares the same camp and the same Lagos. You can chat, make friends, start groups, host events and send voice notes.

How long does camp take in real time?

The game runs on Nigerian time: one real day is one game day. Camp is 21 days, so it lasts 21 real days, and the clock in the game matches the time in Nigeria.

What happens after camp?

You pass out, open your posting letter and report to your place of primary assignment. Then you build a life in Lagos: find a home, take on hustles, get around by danfo, keke, okada or GidiRide, and spend time with friends.

Your call-up letter is waiting.
